Hannah Cavender serves as the inaugural Director of Bands at Seckinger High School in Buford, Georgia, the nation’s first Artificial Intelligence-themed public high school. Since opening the school in 2022, Ms. Cavender has led the development and growth of the Seckinger Band program from the ground up. Her responsibilities include overseeing four concert bands, directing the Jaguar Marching Band and Jazz Band, and supervising the Winterguard program. Under her leadership, the Seckinger Bands have consistently earned superior ratings in both concert and marching settings, despite the young age of the program. The Seckinger Band program has quickly grown into one of the school’s largest and most visible organizations, known for its culture of excellence, strong student leadership, and emphasis on developing the whole student.

Before her appointment at Seckinger, Ms. Cavender served as Associate Director of Bands at Mill Creek High School in Hoschton, Georgia from 2020-2022. Her responsibilities included conducting the Symphonic Winds, Symphonic Band, and Jazz Band, assisting with all aspects of the program, managing the winter guard program, and teaching music technology. During her time at Mill Creek, the concert bands and marching band consistently received superior ratings at festivals and competitions. In 2022, the Pride of Mill Creek Marching Band earned second place at the Bands of America Powder Springs Regional Championship and was awarded Grand Champion at the Eagle’s Nest Invitational.
Prior to her time at Mill Creek, Ms. Cavender served as Associate Director of Bands at Veterans High School in Kathleen, Georgia from 2017–2020. While at Veterans, she conducted the Veterans Wind Symphony, instructed freshman woodwinds and percussion, directed the jazz band, designed and taught a music appreciation course, and assisted with all aspects of the marching band, concert bands, and winter guard program. During her tenure, the Veterans High School Warhawk Squadron and concert bands consistently received superior ratings at competitions and festivals. In 2019, the Veterans High School Winter Guard earned first place at the Southern Association for Performance Arts Championships during the ensemble’s inaugural season. In 2017, Ms. Cavender graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. During her time at UGA, she studied saxophone under Dr. Connie Frigo and conducting under Dr. Jaclyn Hartenberger. She was a member of the Hodgson Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band I, and the Redcoat Marching Band, where she served as drum major in 2015 and 2016. In 2025, Ms. Cavender earned a Master of Music Education degree from Georgia College & State University. A native of Franklin, Tennessee, Ms. Cavender graduated from Franklin High School, where she was a member of the nationally recognized and Sudler Shield Award-winning band program. Her professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Education and the Georgia Music Educators Association. Ms. Cavender resides in Jefferson, Georgia with her fiancé Stanford, who is also a band director, and their two dogs, Rosa and Mabel. Sarah Quayle, Associate Director of Bands
During her time at UGA, she studied flute under Professor Angela Jones-Reus and performed with the Redcoat Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Symphony, and the Flute Studio.
Ms. Quayle holds a Master’s degree in Music Education from Georgia College & State University and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Music Education at Liberty University. Her professional background includes student teaching at Morgan County High School under the mentorship of Jeffrey Rowser in the Spring of 2023. Her professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) and the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA). Recently, she coordinated a large-scale performance trip to Washington, D.C., where her students performed at the Lincoln Memorial. Ms. Quayle resides in Sugar Hill, Georgia, with her fiancé Nolan, their cat Maggie, and their dog Tucker. Reece Moseley, Percussion Coordinator
He also workshopped one of his original orchestral pieces with Maestro Robert Spano and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Reece has taught at Seckinger since the school opened four years ago. To honor the SKG Class of 2026 for building the program from the ground up, he recently wrote a custom wind band piece for them titled "Tabula Rasa."
Reece’s marching background started in high school, where he played marimba his freshman year before moving to the batterie to play quads. He brings this experience and compositional training to his teaching to push his students to grow both technically and musically. He is proud of the culture the Seckinger band family has built and looks forward to the working more with the program. Sierra Reed, Guard Director
During her three-year tenure as Assistant Director at Cherokee Bluff High School, Sierra discovered a profound calling for education. She focuses on creating a safe, inclusive environment where young performers can build physical confidence and express themselves through the artistry of Colorguard.
Outside of the gym and the football field, Sierra enjoys relaxing with her friends, family, and her dog Pumpkin! Sierra is beyond excited to be a part of our Jaguar Marching Band Family! Additional Staff
